Take Your Event Off the GRID!

The Rock It! Co. recently teamed up with our long time clients and friends at PlanSource to embark on a week long stay in beautiful Wild Dunes, SC.  Lucky us, we got to keep business close to home and took to the South Carolina coast! Imagine ocean views as far as the eye can see, a salty, light breeze in the air and the sounds of nature all around. The Wild Dunes Resort delivered again!

We had the pleasure of planning, hosting and executing PlanSource’s annual Sales conference with the talented and amazing staff at the Wild Dunes Resort, our technologically advanced AV partners, AV Matters, destination management company, Destination South and our go-to for all of our stylish event furniture and staging needs, AFR

Over the course of the week, we packed in intriguing speakers, ample networking opportunities and fun evening event experiences. This year was more inspiring, interactive and energizing than ever! Our event kicked off with a warm welcome from former minor league athlete, and born and raised Charlestonian, Chris Singleton. Chris became a nationally renowned speaker following the loss of his mother in the 2015 Mother Emanuel Church tragedy in downtown Charleston, SC. He left us with a powerful message on resilience, forgiveness and unity.

The conference theme ELEVATE was woven throughout the event. For example we thought it was only fitting to experience the amazing and impressive naval aircraft carrier, USS Yorktown (think TOP GUN – Maverick style 😎). With live music, flight simulators and guided tours, our attendees were engaged from start to finish. Pro Tip… transporting your guests offsite (although it sounds daunting) will give them that WOW factor experience that everyone craves. Be sure to explore options in the surrounding area that offer a unique experience where there is something for everyone to enjoy.

We won’t bore you with all the nitty gritty details, but we WILL give you three key sales kickoff experience tips that will make a huge impact on your attendees.

1. Location – Don’t be scared to mix things up when planning your next event! When you use the location of your event to your advantage, that is what the guests will enjoy & remember most.

2. Learning/Educating – Make sure you book & line up engaging speakers with meaningful and relative messages. Plan an interactive lunch, brunch or a panel with your business partners or customers to learn more, and make sure your breakouts take deeper dives into your company’s hot topics. Guests should walk away from each and every session, learning something new and be able to apply to their role in the company.

3. Networking events –  It is oh-so-important to give your attendees time to spend together and also to celebrate accomplishments. Have an awards night to highlight the good stuff. Get creative, think fun, but most importantly make the awards night meaningful. Social time and celebration are a must at your next conference!

Well there you have it! We took people off the grid to experience the sweeping, painted skies of Wild Dunes, SC, motivated them with inspiring speakers, filled their ears with local history and gave them an unforgettable week!
