A Lowcountry Event at It’s Finest

Are you into Five-Star accommodations, world-class resort amenities, award-winning recreational activities, and some of the most respected golf courses in the nation? If so, then you’d probably enjoy staying in Kiawah Island, SC – a coastal escape where the Spanish moss drips from the giant oak trees, and time seems to slow down. It is truly the hidden gem of the south!

Thanks to our amazing clients, ICF, we recently had the pleasure of hosting their event in Kiawah Island and showing them what we love most about our little piece of heaven (also known as The Sanctuary)!

Over the course of 3 days, we packed in some great sessions and impressed the attendees with some of the latest and greatest technology. Thanks to our long time friends and AV Partners, AV Matters. Pssst! Pro tip – budgeting in advance for a top notch AV set-up and plenty of tech support onsite is a big bang for the buck! Attendees stay engaged, speakers are prepared and having the right AV support by your side means your sessions will run smoothly. Because we’ve all been to those conferences that haven’t 🙀

But it wasn’t all business on the island! Of course we wined and dined the guests and embraced many of the special aspects the area had to offer. Like hiring locals to shuck the oysters they harvested that morning for our guests to enjoy, sticking to our southern roots and offering a Firefly Vodka tasting experience, and listening to the sweet tunes being played by Chewbacky as the sun dipped slowly down over the marsh! Can’t you just picture it?

And here’s another pro-tip – mix things up for your guests! Not to give away all of our secrets, but don’t feel like you have to follow the same old conference mold. At your Welcome Reception, host an Artisan Market and you let your guests choose the memorabilia they’d like to take home rather than load them up with tchotchkes. We offered some of the lowcountry’s finest gifts in Kiawah – custom designed oyster shells by Grit & Grace, southern inspired wearable & printed artwork from Eden Shell, featuring the artist George Roberts who was onsite to greet and sign artwork for the guests…and so much more! Our attendees sipped and shopped, while listening to the jazzy tunes of one of our favorite Charleston SC musicians, Seth G. So get creative people! The details and the special touches are what your guests will remember.

Needless to say, ICF (and The Rock It! Co.) hit a home run by choosing Kiawah Island as the backdrop of their event. Until next time Kiawah!
